life’s blessings. 
when we moved to littleton some friends of ours asked if we’d like to try visiting their bible study which was just a mile down the road from us. lonnalee and dave {and the whole group} were so inviting, and we felt at home right away. dave is also one of the lead pastors at littleton bible chapel, which is quickly becoming our new church home.
lonnalee is so talented with decorating and sewing, and she also makes gorgeous paper flowers. notice the little lambs, hot air balloons, and stars in baby georgia’s room? lonnalee made them all! and every flower or decorative tree in their house, she made those, too! check out her site, lovelee flowers, if you’d like to see more of her work or get in contact with her.
we’re so blessed to have met this wonderful family, and i’m so thankful for the friendships i’ve gained through our church and bible study!
thank you, thank you scott, nataly dawn, and ben folds five for letting me to photograph your denver show at the ogden! i was already jumping for joy when i knew we’d be able to make the show, but getting to see the everything from a different perspective {and take photos, too} was icing on the cake!
nataly dawn opened for ben folds five, and her album how i knew her came out today. i stood in complete awe of her voice, and i’m getting the album as soon as this post is up! {she is also 1/2 of the duo pomplamoose.} enjoy the video for leslie from her new album:
backstage i briefly met ryan lerman {playing the for nataly dawn}, and since then i looked up his music, too. he’s super talented, and for those who love the show parenthood as much as i do, his song do with you {feat. ben folds} was featured on season 4, episode 12.
ben folds five’s new album the sound of the life of the mind has become one of my new favorites. i’m really not a music writer, but this article from the huffington post explains a bit of what it took for the band to get back together. and who wouldn’t love a video with the fraggles?
yep. it would be nice to be a better writer… i think i’ll stick to taking photos. i enjoyed the show!
tiphanie and jimmy have the kind of relationship that makes love look easy. david and i photographed their wedding in december ’11, and we often comment that it’s time for them to move back to colorado. if they lived close, i’m sure jimmy and david would watch {and quote} seinfeld way too often, and i’d beg tiphanie to teach me her cooking tricks.
i was so thrilled when tiphanie announced that she was expecting, and i couldn’t wait to meet baby stella for the first time. when i arrived at their house, jimmy came outside holding stella in his arms – smiling ear to ear. and that’s really how it was during my whole visit. he and tiphanie have fallen head over heels for their baby girl, and it was lovely getting to witness a small part of their daily life. at one point we took stella’s diaper off for the last set of photos, and she tinkled all over jimmy’s arm… i wanted to find a towel as quickly as possible, and he just laughed, saying it didn’t even bother him because she was so cute. now that’s love!
little christmas miracle
a good friend introduced amanda and i a year or so ago at a photographers’ meeting, and i’ve admired her work ever since. so when she asked if i could take some newborn photos for her and mike, i was completely flattered. taking photos for photographers can be nerve-wracking, but thankfully that wasn’t the case at all. mike and amanda were definitely in the early stages of love all over again, and they couldn’t take their eyes off baby ethan. what joy he’s brought to their lives already!
