stacey and justin. morrison, colorado engagement photographer

i am so blessed by the people i meet through photography, and i am incredibly excited to work with stacey and justin! when i first got to chat with stacey, it was like getting to catch up with an old friend. Isn’t it such a great feeling when conversation comes that easily? for their engagement session, we met at lair o’ the bear park in morrison as a last minute location change, and i took advantage of every last drop of sunlight! i’m so looking forward to stacey and justin’s wedding at crooked willow farms this summer!

jenny and matt. cherry creek polo club wedding photographer

i just have to geek out for a minute.

the light in this house was crazy. amazing. beautiful. i would give {almost} anything to be surrounded with light like it for the rest of my life.

the future mr. and mrs. smith… minus the assassin part. they’re way too in love for that! {see what i mean about the light?}

jenny’s uncle has a fantastic car collection, and this was one of her favorites. can you blame her?

and then we headed into the blizzard…

i had such fun on this shoot, and i have to thank aly and beth with bio photography for trusting me to take their wedding clients’ engagement photos.  aly had plans to drive from pueblo to do this shoot, but the blizzard was going to make that quite a challenge, so i volunteered to help.

of course when i offered my help, i just assumed that it would only be an inch or two of snow. what do they say about assuming? well it snowed and snowed so much that i was terrified to take my toyota 2runner out of the driveway. i managed to make it about three miles away from my house before i tried downshifting on a hill and spun into another lane. thankfully nobody was beside me, but i was shaking in terror and decided my car couldn’t make it. thankfully matt had a 4wd suv, so he came to pick me up so we could continue with the planned shoot.

when we drove up and matt pointed to the house we would be shooting in, i had a huge sigh of relief! even the blizzard couldn’t keep us from the beautiful sunlight.

i had a fantastic time getting to know jenny and matt, and i know that aly and beth are going to have the best time at their wedding. i felt at ease the minute i met them, and their love shines through in every photo.

natasha and james. palmer park, colorado springs. engagement photographer

natasha and james were so entertaining! he really likes to mess with her, and i was constantly laughing at them. take for example when i asked james to give tash a sweet kiss on her forehead… it didn’t turn out quite as i’d expected, but it sure made for a funny picture! of course, tash gives it right back, making them a perfect match! i’m so excited to photograph their wedding at della terra in just over a month!

btw – i photographed this session digitally and with film {mamiya 645, fuji 400}. i’ll offer a $10 starbucks gift card to the first person who can accurately point out all of the film photos without any digitals accidentally thrown in. good luck :)

mackenzie and joe. piendmont park, atlanta wedding photographer

Littleton, Denver, Breckenridge, Vail, Aspen Wedding photographer (1)

mamiya 645, canon elan ii, fuji 400, portra 400

i first met mackenzie about 5 years ago… when i was an assistant tennis coach and she was on the high school team. her sister, maddy, was also one of my 6th grade students, and now she’s in the 11th grade. my how the time flies! these two girls are a few of the many reasons i miss teaching, but i’m so glad they’ve kept in touch.

mackenzie and joe met us at piedmont park while neal and i were in atlanta for imagingUSA {a gigantic photography conference}. i’m so thrilled that mackenzie has found someone to make her laugh and smile so much, and joe is clearly a ginger, which makes me love him even more.

my good friend neal and i are joining together as a film wedding team {deux rouge}, so we were over the moon excited when mackenzie and joe asked us to photograph their wedding. we’re in the process of putting together our website, so until then i’ll be posting my favorites here, and you can check out neal’s post to see what he chose as well. i’m excited about our new partnership and the opportunity to shoot lots of film! we’ll both be continuing our own businesses as well, so kerinsa marie photography and inward studio will remain alive and well.
