bryn and ben. echo lake engagement photographer

bryn and ben’s echo lake engagement session, near mount evans, couldn’t have been more perfect! there wasn’t a cloud in the sky, and the frozen lake was a great playground for us {and their goldendoodle, murphy}. we stayed a majority of the time on the frozen lake, and i was in love with how wide open everything was. with the big blue sky, evergreens, and mountains surrounding us, it really felt like the ultimate colorado engagement session!

while we were on the lake, we kept hearing strange whipping sounds, and i admit i never really got used to them. i did a little googling when i got home and found these recordings of what we heard, along with an explanation for why they were happening. so strange!

bryn and ben must have gotten shocked at least four times as they tried to kiss under this tree! then we decided it was time to move on…

our 10 year anniversary trip. kauai, hawaii

ah, hawaii. i’m dreaming of it now and wishing i could be on the beach this very moment, so i thought it would be a good time to put together my first post about our 10th anniversary vacation! although our anniversary is in march, we actually took this trip just this past september. normally i’m terrible about taking photos for myself, but when i’m on vacation i can’t put the camera down. for that very reason, i came home with over a thousand photos and i’m breaking down our trip into several posts.

this was our very first day on kauai, and the day i fell in love with the st. regis princeville. when we were checking in, the sweet sweet woman at the front desk upgraded our room to an ocean view since we were there to celebrate. both our jaws hit the floor once we saw our view. we relaxed on the beach, drank mai tais, and sat under the cabanas that entire day – just david’s speed. although i enjoyed every moment, that was the only time during our trip i was able to just sit and chill. i’ll share more of our adventures in future posts…

ps – you should get married at the st. regis princeville, and i should be your photographer!

this last photo was the view from our room. absolutely unreal.

if you’d like to skip ahead and see all of my favorites, check out this slideshow of our vacation album.

the knott family. belmar park, colorado

i absolutely adore this family! we met  through our small group from church, and you just won’t meet two more genuine people anywhere. on top of that, i’ve never been more jealous of someone’s hair in my life! how are nikki’s curls so long and absolutely perfect…i submit that it must be magic. and did you notice the beautifully knit scarves and boot warmers? yep, nikki made them! she’s so incredibly talented that i’m making it my priority to make sure she opens an etsy shop before sedona becomes a big sister!
