tina & steve {breckenridge engagement photographer}

tina & steve live in maryland and they both love to travel. in fact, they were engaged in hawaii {these two know how to pick great destinations}. when they booked a last minute ski trip to breckenridge, they figured it would also be a great time and place to take engagement pics, and i sure think they were right!

after a few quick pics in town, we drove to sapphire point. what an incredible view!

tina’s diamond was passed down from her grandmother, and steve had it beautifully reset. he did a great job!

this little squirrel was very interested in what we were doing…

who doesn’t enjoy playing in the snow?

congratulations on your engagement, tina & steve! i had a great time getting to know you, and thanks for choosing me to take your pics. have a great trip and enjoy the wonderful powder!

erin & matt {denver colorado wedding photographer}

erin and matt both worked with the peace corps. and met on a plane ride to moldova {not many people can say that!}. apparently, it was pretty obvious that they were smitten with each other, so a friend gave matt the encouragement to kiss erin on new year’s eve 6 years ago. how fitting that they were married just after midnight on 01.01.11!

special thanks to andrea of ak haydon floral designs! erin wasn’t scheduled to get her flowers until 8pm {for the reception}, so andrea put this together just knowing erin’s colors. isn’t it amazing?! my jaw hit the floor when i saw it!

love. love. love.

i think erin looks just like belle, from beauty and the beast! so pretty!

this boutenneire was also made by andrea at ak haydon floral designs!

after starting out the day getting ready and taking pics, we headed to the reception that evening. erin and matt decided to have their party/reception first and ceremony last. what a fun and different idea!

erin got a touch of frostbite on the night of their engagement! she had no idea that they’d be spending so much time outside, and she wore peep-toe shoes {in the canadian winter!}. ouch! sure made for a funny story, though!

erin and her sister, anne, were so sweet! i’m in love with this one.

anne made the amazing carrot wedding cake. yum!

erin’s parents flew in from ny, but weather canceled flight after flight. thankfully they made it to the reception around 10:30pm.

erin & matt were both so excited for the ceremony, and it was so cute! it was cold {freezing – literally}, but i don’t think they noticed at all! notice the priest’s breath…

erin and matt, thanks so much for choosing us to capture your day! you were so much fun to photograph, and i can’t wait to show you more!

my resolution

this one’s a day or two late, but better late than never, right? normally, i don’t make new year’s resolutions. really, i’m not sure that i’ve ever made one; i’ve always thought they were kind of silly. however, i’ve been thinking of this post for a while now. i just didn’t know it was going to end up my resolution until tonight. while we were on our way home from mike and emily’s, i realized i still didn’t have anything to blog for the day. and you know, i’ve had that problem several {too many} times, so i ended up blogging things that weren’t very important to me – but that’s not what i want my blog to be about. i want my blog posts to reflect things i’m proud to share, personally and professionally.

so, i’m proud to say that i blogged 135 consecutive days, and i’m taking a break from “my ambitious plan.” my new year’s resolution is to make my blog a reflection of who i am, only posting things that i’m excited to share.┬ámy goodness, this is a h.u.g.e. weight off my shoulders – which is a good sign that i’m making the right decision.

erin & matt {a few more}

these are just a few more sneak peeks from erin & matt’s new years wedding! it was 9 degrees F when we shot these pics, so they were troopers! can you believe erin braved the cold in a strapless chiffon dress? i’ll have a full blog post of the wedding coming up soon…
